If interior design is not your area of expertise, let the professionals handle it. We, at Wanda Michelle Interiors are the leaders in interior design and we will leave your home looking like it should be in a magazine.
FIX YOUR SQUEAKS
You don’t have to be an interior designer to know that your homes entry door is the first and last thing you see before exiting your home. If your door squeaks when you open it, it sounds like the door is crying which could offset your mood. Oil that door a little and create a more positive energy.
USE YOUR FRONT DOOR
Many people today enter their homes through a door in the garage. This is convenient but you are disrupting the chi. The chi enters through the front door and so should you, even if it’s only once a week.
WHERE TO PLACE THAT FENG SHUI FOUNTAIN
In feng shui, water represents wealth. According to feng shui, having a fountain at the entrance of your home is the best place to promote positive chi, it can either be outside or just inside. The water should be flowing towards the centre of the house.
PLANTS ABOVE THE KITCHEN CABINETS
To promote feng shui, there shouldn’t be a gap in your kitchen between the cupboards and the ceiling. The chi can get stuck in this gap and it can become stagnant. If you have a gap, you can place some lighting, plants or sentimental objects to bring the gap to life a bit.
KEEP THAT BATHROOM DOOR CLOSED
Because water represents wealth, many people who practise feng shui have a thing about the bathroom door being open. This is where water leaves the house but it also comes straight back in once it drains. You should also keep your toilet seat down/ closed.
WHERE IS YOUR BED LOCATED?
Your bed is probably the most important piece of furniture when it comes to fung shei. When arranging furniture, something called the commanding position is used. We spend most of our time at home, in our beds sleeping which is why it’s so important to have your bed in the best commanding position possible. The bed should be opposite to the door so that you can see it or alternatively, you could position a mirror such that you can see the doorway from your bed.
COVER UP THE TV IN YOUR BEDROOM
A television can be found in almost every main bedroom of a modern home. People use it to help them fall asleep. If you want a feng shui bedroom, then you should cover the TV with some form of cloth when it is not in use or u can conceal it in a cabinet that displays the TV when you push a button.
CLEAN ALL WINDOWS
The windows symbolise your eyes to the world in fung shui. We want to be able to see everything clearly. Life is so beautiful that it would be a shame if you missed something amazing due to dirty windows.
